From the Ocean, Fine Art Becomes Wearable Art

More than a scarf, Sotto Del Mari apparel combines the mystique, sensuality and timeless beauty of the ocean with the rare and fresh perspective of today’s most modern aesthetic. Sotto Del Mari, Italian for “beneath the ocean,” represents a never-before view of some the oceans’ greatest organic art. Your beautiful scarf is the result of thousands of dives in the oceans and seas of the world by photographer and fashion designer Bruce Elliott.

Bruce Elliott has taken fine art underwater photography for more than 20 years. His photographs have been exhibited at many fine art venues and is on display in the Smithsonian Museum.

Now Sotto Del Mari has been formed to present an array of women’s accessories using actual photographs taken during his dives.

The images that appear on our scarves are unique: each design has been discovered, composed and photographed by Bruce Elliott during his dives in the ocean and its reefs.  He was amazed at the intricate forms he found on the smallest sections of coral, a fish or other marine life.
Capturing these hidden miracles of nature, he transforms them into art forms whether on canvas, metal or fabric.

Sotto Del Mari has taken these images from Bruce Elliott’s camera and transferred them
onto the very finest quality fabrics using the highest possible quality of digital printing.
Sotto Del Mari is proudly partnering with an Italian firm in Como, Italy with a history of superb textile printing.

We are certain that you will find owning and wearing these luxurious scarves rewarding.
We also hope you will come to appreciate the hidden magnificent beauty to be found in the oceans, to respect and preserve the resource that is essential to our existence.

Sotto Del Mari is committed to donating a percentage of each purchase to non-profit organizations dedicated to preserving the world’s oceans.
