Underwater Studio
My adventures within a world not often visited has rewarded me with
discoveries and amazing encounters beneath the waves. Mammoth
Humpbacks, Southern Right whales, whale sharks and many others have
astounded me as they swim effortlessly by, as have the wonder of mother
whales teaching their calves. Giant Manta Rays swim with the grace of
ballerinas, while dolphins and sea lions play, exhibiting great intelligence and
curiosity when occasionally interacting with human voyeurs. Powerful and
dynamic sharks of many varieties swim in the depths as they stalk prey
amidst a multitude of marine life.
Scenes of natural architecture formed by hard coral structures and
spectacularly colored soft corals afford a protective habitat within which a
myriad of interesting smaller and sometimes tiny life find their homes in our
oceans and seas. Among the more difficult to see are the camouflage
specialists such as Pigmy Sea Horses, Ghost Pipe Fish, smaller octopi and
Flamboyant Cuttlefish. In the tropical seas, amorous Mandarin Fish and
outrageously colored nudibranchs are seen foraging and hiding in the
crevices. . Orange and purple finger-sized Anthias swim in schools by the
hundreds everywhere you look, over pink, purple, white, yellow, red and
orange soft corals. Swimming, parade-like, are schools of fish protecting
themselves from yet larger fish.
It is hoped that these glimpses into what exists beneath the waves offers an
appreciation of the beauty that lies within our oceans and our need to
respect these treasures.
The fine art abstract images from which my scarf collections are faithfully
produced are only a few of the many close up images in my portfolio.
Thesewill be presented as more of our products are unveiled.
Thank you for letting me share adventures,
